FAQ
This is a list of some commonly asked questions in no particular order.
Q: Do you charge for meetings / classes?
A: Most of our meetings are free and open to the public. Some professional speakers and certain training classes held at other venues may require a fee, but we will do our best to notify everyone well in advance and we will try our best to avoid any charges.
Q: Do I need to pre-register for classes / meetings?
A: No, you’re simply asked to sign in when you arrive. That’s it!
Q: How will I know when you are having a meeting?
A: Currently there are several ways to be informed about meetings:
- River 103.7 radio station will announce meeting dates/details as a Public Service Announcement.
- There will be an announcement in The Leader Times newspaper in the “News to Use” section.
- Our Facebook group page.
- This website under “Upcoming Events”
- When you arrive for your first meeting, you will be asked to sign in and provide an email address and/or phone number so that we can send email or text messages about future meetings. You will not be spammed, and your information will not be sold or shared with anyone.
Q: Do I have to attend all the meetings?
A: No. Whether you’re an occasional meeting attendee or a paid member, there is no requirement to attend any meeting or number of meetings.
Q: Do I have to “join” PPEN to attend meetings?
A: No. There may be certain meetings or events that will require you to be a paid member for safety and/or security reasons, but most meetings have no such requirement.
Q: What does it cost to join PPEN?
A: The current membership fee is $15 per person to join. Current memberships start in January and run through the calendar year.
Q: Are you a group of “Doomsday preppers”?
A: No. We’re simply a group of people who wish to raise awareness of being ready for any kind of crisis, from something as “small” as a personal crisis to as large as a regional disaster. If you attend one of our meetings, we’re sure you will find that we are a friendly, welcoming group of people who simply have a passion for both learning and sharing knowledge and skills that can help others in our community in the event of a zombie apocalypse. <Joke!
